Scissors = Evil!

Apparently if you use scissors to cut out squares for too long you end up with blisters on your fingers and thumb :(

Ouchie! And I still don't have anywhere near the 1104 squares needed!!!

    1. See I have a rotary cutter and mat, but since scissors are easier to use when cutting multiple layers of fabric, I stupidly decided to use them!

      And ahhhh thats a secret :D
      I will be uploading pics of the first 1/12 of the final thing.... perhaps you'd like to hazard a guess then!?

  2. You're a tease! Gee, 1104 squares..... a "trip around the world" quilt? a "postage stamp" quilt? Perhaps you are joining the rest of the blog world and starting a Granny Square quilt. Good grief, how many layers are you cutting with scissors??? You can layer up your fabrics and still use your rotary cutter, just ensure you have a nice new blade in it - I'm talking about a 45mm rotary cutter, not the teeny tiny one. Plus, a piece of non slip product on your ruler stops it moving when you try and cut - there is a product called Invisigrip and here in Australia we have Sew Easy Clear Grip. Once you use this on your rulers, you won't be able to use one without it.
    So, happy cutting :-))
